Geoffrey Trotter joined Gudmundseth Mickelson LLP after completing his articles at a large Vancouver law firm and following his call to the bar in 2009. Geoffrey was a law clerk with the Supreme Court of British Columbia in 2007-2008, and now practices in the area of commercial and civil litigation including administrative law. He also acts as a commercial mediator.
His experience includes junioring Howard Mickelson, QC in a successful 9-week sale-of-business commission trial 2010 BCSC 1187; representing an international client in an arbitration dispute; and representing clients in matters involving contractual interpretation, fraud, personal injury, and malicious prosecution. Geoffrey has acted in insurance disputes over coverage, breach, and punitive damages issues.
Geoffrey attended law school at the University of British Columbia where he received numerous prizes and scholarships for his academic achievements and in recognition of his leadership in student affairs and extracurricular sports. Geoffrey is a peer-reviewed published author, a member of the Civil Roster of Mediate BC and has assisted with pro-bono civil liberties cases as both a student and a lawyer. Recently he has participated in the Inns of Court program.
