Shea Coulson joined Gudmundseth Mickelson LLP in 2011 after practicing as an associate at Farris LLP in Vancouver. Shea was a law clerk with the British Columbia Court of Appeal in 2009 - 2010.
Shea has assisted senior counsel in matters before the B.C. Supreme Court, the B.C. Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has appeared as counsel before the B.C. Provincial Court, the B.C. Supreme Court and the B.C. Court of Appeal. Shea has a particular focus on administrative and regulatory law, complex commercial matters, large scale claims and appeals. His experience includes drafting argument for several complex appeals, including Lam v. University of British Columbia, leave application 33855 to the Supreme Court of Canada: IAT Air Cargo Facilities v. BMO Nesbitt Burns, 2011 BCCA 226; and Greater Regional District v. British Columbia (Attorney General), Musqueam Indian Band et al., 2011 BCCA 345.
Shea also provides services to the wine and liquor industry and has frequently commented on the wine business and liquor law reform. He was profiled by Business in Vancouver on the privatization of liquor in the February 15, 2011 edition.

Shea graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2009 and was in the top 10% of his graduating class. He won numerous prizes and scholarships for his academic achievement.
