At law school, Scott was an active member of the mooting program where he received distinguished oralist and writing awards. He has since returned as an instructor with the trial advocacy program, and as a guest lecturer on legal writing, defamation, and private international law.

Outside of work, Scott can be found in the mountains with his bike and skis, writing for a music blog, or testing his wits at pub trivia. He is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and currently serves on the Board of ProAction Cops & Kids.
